The Toshiba updates apparently did not take this into account, because an older version of the Intel HDD driver was installed by Toshiba with their machine-specific updates. Attempts to fix the problem seems to have made the problem worse. Uncle B says: 4 years ago much better solution: Install Ubuntu 12.04 and live happily ever after! Manual wont have the delayed start, which apparently is NOT much of a delay and you can always set it back to automatic(delayed)after you're done. Uncheck the box for exceptions only (under the blue start box) and check the deep scan box.
