Why Did Microsoft Disable System Restore? Seems to be the wiser option in case of complete disk failure anyhow.

Please try the request again. Safe Mode restart then an earlier restore worked for me. Click Next on the dialog and on the next screen, make sure there are recent restore points. Happy days Imaging is the best solution
