However, the one surefire solution will be to use the "Reset this PC" tool in the Settings app. For example Windows may delete restore points at (what it seems like) random. If the backup process is retried, the error may not reoccur. If you have a big hard drive in your PC, however, it won't be a big deal.
Some image backup programs, however, can incrementally backup. I triedeverything short of complete reinstall, which I really do not want todo. This went on for a week getting worse by the day.
