I opened my itunes which was trapped on an external HD and was on 'read-only' so that I couldn't make any changes or corrections to artists, listings etc and changed an I went to the command prompt and typed "attrib -r c:\a" but received a message: Access denied. I tried going to the main Pictures folder and un-checking the "Read Only" box (which was checked for some reason), but that didn't work (included all sub folders). I can't install my new wireless card because it can't write two driver files to the C:\Users\(me)\Temp folder.
