It remains as READ only always, when I try to unmark the square mark. Most likely you need to reset the permissions of this folder. I tried this and it does not work - the files remain not accessible. My choice and it neatly avoids this entirely.
My question is: In unchecking the read only box and hitting apply, did that actually modify any of the attributes within the program files folder? What to do????? It simply is my home PC. Would you like to answer one of these unanswered questions instead?
