Turning the autosave function off and then turning it back on does not fix this issue as suggested by some who have not read the question correctly. Case #9 is something I didn't learn about until June of 2012. get redirected here i didnt have this problem with IE7 and i had the box checked to delete history and still i had no such problems with passwords as with IE8 !! I believe they've had a number of security problems with their mechanism (which they've patched over the years) but it definitely provides a more consistent and understandable user-experience. Or, perhaps you’ve deleted browser history manually using the Delete Browser History command. Select "Prompt me to save passwords" and you should be back in business.
