I've had this technique work for me fixing client's hard drives many times (maybe even more than 100 times, I lost count long ago). is the drive letter of the external drive. Always use "Safely remove hardware" to disconnect the drive. It doesn't have a "point and click" GUI but it does have a structured dialogue to follow, which isn't too difficult to get to grips with. When I got home I tried checking it on my computer with my SD card reader. Testdisk shows it as still being NTFS, but with this FAT16 issue popping up during deeper search. any suggestion will be very much appropriated. what to do?

Long story short, I paid for EaseUS Data Recovery; which was utterly crap. The partition table is corrupted and the boot sector of the main partition is also scrambled. Can you advise what I should be doing and if overwriting the partition table. The drive is a 16gb lexar. Can you try plugging the hard drive into another computer and running TestDisk?
