Tried the suggestions listed here and mucked around with the SMTP server list. I don't get any error messages - emails just sit in the out box. I couldn't restore a single Mavericks until I deleted Yosemite backups even though I didn't want to restore those. Can't Send Email From Mac So I eliminated the Yahoo account on Mail - I had to go through internet accounts to do this. Thanks….such a simple solution. I've tried everything mentioned in the article, nothing seems to work.

I decided (before the NSA) that I really did not want my mail left on a server, so I kept my old-fashioned POP account. So no go on my end. Port 25 is used to connect to Gmail's restricted(only allowed to send to other Gmail users) mail server here: aspmx.l.google.com . useful reference IS anyone else experiencing this?
