In any case, a full checkdisk scan of the affected drive is warranted and it may be able to address some of the issues you are seeing. I've tried deleting both folder pairs and recreating them. Try refreshing explorer. Type the following (note the \\?\ at the start):del \\?\C:\Documents and Settings\Vasssos\My Documents\Downloads\...then press TAB until your filename appears, when it does, press ENTER.

up vote 1 down vote favorite I have noticed that when I do a full backup over the weekend, it backs up for all the folders except for one. I had to look through the comments again to realize my annoying file had a SPACE at the end and not a dot. Now I have a load of folders I can't delete, even using the above suggestions. It cuts out an extra complicating and delaying factor in the whole process.
That's disappointing, but you're well within warranty so they should replace it easily enough. The files are not corrupt as the image or video file opens and plays OK in the original location, but any attempt to move it triggers the error message "Can't read and does the folder have anykind of special name? They are harmless and never personally identify you.

BryTech February 8. 2009 19:38 the command line resolution suggested here did not work for me, but the "unlocker" utility did provide a quick and easy install and fix.thanks!
