I reloaded DX, rolled back to wmp10, played with accelerator settings, reinstalled video drivers, added , deleted and promoted various mpeg2 decoders etc... I have a multiple format DVD Burner that is region free and once I played a region 2 dvd (Which I bought legally) it decided to stop working for all Region Got the same error message when trying to play DVDs I have purchased. Why this problem is coming when I try to play my DVD? Your DVD decoder and Windows Media Player have copy protection software that decodes the information on the DVD just before displaying it. Check that it's set to the right region for the DVDs you are playing.

ok, last post I promise - apparently I am suddenly lacking an 'MPEG-2 decoder'.
