Do other machines successfully obtain DHCP leases on the same network cable and are they able to ping the DC? Being a member gives you additional options. My friend's computer gets it's IP address from DHCP server (he's running Windows XP, SP2 if I remember correctly) while the other computer is a server (of sorts), with it's static I am lost!Thank you for your help!
