A good tool for testing and troubleshooting is to download Irfanview, which has Twain and scanning tools under the File menu. I had this problem, and went nack to the Canon 4.9 Toolbox, and with your path set, - it worked. Like with many others, this problem just happened recently with the CanoScan working great before.
