In my case it was named CNQ4803. If I keep right on scanning it is ok, but if I stop for a while it will no longer work without restarting the computer. I was able to scan info Photoshop no problem (I have CS2 and Photoshop Elements 11, both worked fine). Life saver !!
Not only can I not scan, but I can't print either. I am computer programmer with lots of experience and it would have taken me a lot of time and so you saved me a lot of headache! A good tool for testing and troubleshooting is to download Irfanview, which has Twain and scanning tools under the File menu. I had this problem, and went nack to the Canon 4.9 Toolbox, and with your path set, - it worked. Like with many others, this problem just happened recently with the CanoScan working great before.
