I'll double check for errors. If I clang the library stdbool, it gives the error as above. What do I do. I'm going to try out the compilers you mentioned. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8548521/trying-to-use-include-stdbool-h-in-vs-2010
I've learned so much from just a few paragraphs! Then almost everything you read in the C99 book will work without the compiler choking. There's absolutely no reason to fret about the "wasted" memory expended by storing a two-bit value in an int.

As no datatypes (except \Bool) have this behaviour, you probably can't make one yourself, since it requires compiler backend support, and you cannot overload operators. It's unfortunate, because stdbool.h and many other far more useful features are supported in C99, but not in Visual Studio. I bought Visual Studio 2005 for my class and couldn't figure out how to use it.

To make this change, you can edit your project's compilation settings within the IDE, or you can simply rename the file to have a cpp extension (rather than c). Dec 17 '11 at 23:23 4 Apparently cold weather knows no bounds (i.e. btw you were right, the library stdbool was not included...

VS will automatically set the compilation mode accordingly. also, i do think that automatic conversion from int to bool is not quite a good idea (and this applies to any automatic conversion). –Adrien Plisson Nov 1 '09 at 13:14 It failed and I got the following messages: * Using Compiler 'V5.06 update 1 (build 61)', folder: 'C:\Keil_v5\ARM\ARMCC\Bin' Build target 'nrf52832_xxaa_s132' compiling main.c... ............\components\ble\common\ble_advdata.h(26): error: #5: cannot open source input file Check This Out Not the answer you're looking for?
