Cannot Open Serial Port /dev/ttyusb0. Error Code 13
I have java code which reads this serial port and echo data on screen. I am using UBUNTU 12.0. Pass bluetooth data to serial port as i did it on windows and then read serial port. I have this device which is listed as /dev/ttyUSB0I need tosudo chown sms /dev/ttyUSB0every time I reboot. It's so hard to find simple language along with examples in solving these types of problems. Adding my user to dialout did not help. Run sudoedit /etc/udev/rules.d/50-ttyusb.rules and stick this in there: KERNEL=="ttyUSB[0-9]*",NAME="tts/USB%n",SYMLINK+="%k",GROUP="uucp",MODE="0666" Save, exit and replug and you should be up and running.
